We will write a custom Essay on Is Arabic Superior to Other Languages? specifically for you
Although all human languages are equal in power considering the nature of appreciation each society gives its native language, Arabic has always been one of the most superior languages spoken by the human species, because of its universality and spiritual significance. Arabic is the native language of more than two hundred and fifty million Arabs in the world.
In addition, as compared to other languages that keep on changing their grammar and syntax as researchers endeavor to understand such languages more, Arabic has maintained its grammar and most of its vocabulary all throughout history. For example, although English is one of the most spoken languages, there exist different versions of the English language depending one’s country of origin.
Moreover, although most individuals may refute its superiority on grounds that it is the Koran that has sustained its strength among its users, this is something that is illogical, because apart from being the language of the Koran, it is the only language that has not been affected by the human codification. Therefore, Arabic is a versatile language with words that can be used to imply different meanings without any contradictions in understanding the context under which they is used (Jordan, Paterson, & Almabruk, 2010, pp. 426-428).
One of the primary factors that have made Arabic to remain the most superior language on earth is the amount of splendor and potency of most Arabic words. Although most translators have endeavored to translate the original version of Arabic as it appears in the Koran, such efforts have remained fruitless over the years, as it is impossible to give the translations an exact meaning as the ones inferred in the original Arabic texts.
Hence, although the world appreciates English as one of the most superior languages, contrary to the numerous difficulties that are involved when translating Arabic to other languages, it is very easy to translate English to other languages. In addition, as evidenced by the poetic richness of the Koran, Arabic is one of the most poetic languages.
As a result of the poetic nature of Arabic, over the years understanding the Koran has been one of the most difficult endeavors for most Muslims; hence, the tendency of most fanatics of Islam to recite the holy Koran rather than understand it fully. Although most individuals may refute the superiority of Arabic on grounds that it is a barrier to understanding even important holy books such as the Koran, it is important for individuals to note that, its uniqueness and time required to become proficient with Arabic is what makes Arabic unique (Sherriff, 2010, P.1).
Further, although most languages have evolved from their original forms, over the years Arabic has maintained its grammar and syntax. For example, as compared to the English grammar that was used during the times of Shakespeare, modern day English grammar is very different.

Hence, if individuals who were born in the 19 th and 20 th century are taken back to live in the ancient times, they will not be able to communicate, although English is their native language. Therefore, to a larger extent Arabic is not only a language, but also it is a preservation of the human civilization. Although some Arab communities have endeavored to alter the original Arabic grammar, such quests have been faced with numerous revolts, because of the importance placed on Arabic by Muslims Sheriff, 2010, 1).
On the other hand, Arabic is the only language, which unites individuals who profess one of the most common world religions, Islam. This language is very important to this group of believers, because of their strong believes that it was a language that was written under Allah’s (God’s) guidance; hence, the nature of the unique characteristics it has. Although majority of Arabs do not understand fully Arabic, the simple Arabic knowledge they have always helps them to understand the Koran and pray to their creator.
In addition, as compared to other religion’s holy books that have been translated to English and other languages, the Koran has remained for ages in its original Arabic version, because of its rich and poetic content that can be lost if it is given another meaning. Therefore, as long as the human species continues to exist, Arabic will always remain a unique and superior language (Jamil, 2011, p.1).
Although Arabic may be a complicated language because of its unique script and grammar content, just like other languages; Arabic can be learnt so long as one is willing to understand it. In addition, in addition it is important for individuals to note that, it is not it is not only its religious affiliation that makes Arabic superior, but also Arabic has a unique grammar and syntax; hence, the nature of pride that Arabic speakers enjoy.
